The Crescent is under threat of closure in Hertfordshire
As some of you will be aware, The Crescent has been under threat of closure since June 2011 - we are still fighting this decision so please feel free to write to your MP & County Councillor to complain. Buckinghamshire News for 2012

From January the Crescent will also be offering instant result HIV testing at the Aylesbury drop in as well as St Albans on an appointment basis.

Please contact us via the appointments form here on the website or by phone on 01727 842532 / 07903 868525 for more details.

Please note from 03 January the Aylesbury drop in service will be open on a Tuesday, instead of Wednesdays,

In addition from February will also be open on the first Saturday of each month, from 11am to 3pm

Dates are as follows 04 Feb, 03 March, 07 April, 05 May, 02 June, 07 July, 04 Aug, 01 Sept, 06 Oct, 03 Nov & 01 Dec. 

Another New Patron

We are delighted to announce that we have another new patron, Mr CJ de Mooi, CJ joins James Wharton and this means we have gained two new Patrons this month.

CJ appears in the popular quiz show Eggheads, and has been a part of the programme since its inception in 2003.

CJ is also known for his extensive charity work for various causes, running marathons, and other events such as Chess tournaments and Quiz shows. In the next two months CJ will be running a half Marathon in Hastings (25th March) with proceeds going to the Crescent and also in February a Charity Pool event in Telford where proceeds will be shared between the Crescent and Against Breast Cancer. More details to folow on these shortly.

CJ is also a Patron of the Sussex Beacon, a clinical care centre for people living with HIV/AIDS in Brighton.


We are also very pleased to announce that Mr James Wharton has joined us as a patron.

James was the first openly gay person to appear on the front cover of Soldier magazine, the British Army's official publication, which also had an in-depth article on James' life as its feature.

Marrying his long term partner, Thomas, in March 2010, James and his husband became the first gay couple to be united by civil partnership, in the Household Cavalry's 350 year history.

In August 2010, James was ranked 19th in the Independent on Sunday's Pink list- the 101 most influential gay men and women in the country.
